Working from a loose, hand-drawn sketchbook style, I created a series of playful characters and graphic figures that appeared throughout the space. The drawings showed up on signage, objects, installations, and small details across the dinner, giving the gathering a shared visual language that felt human, curious, and a little mischievous.
The project extended beyond graphics into a collection of custom objects created specifically for the night. We designed illustrated plates, jewelry, napkins, printed materials, and other small artifacts that guests encountered throughout the evening. The idea was that even the tableware could feel like part of the artwork—turning dinner itself into a canvas.
The evening unfolded as a long communal table overlooking the Pacific, where founders, technologists, and artists gathered around objects and imagery that celebrated curiosity, imagination, and the strange idea of genius. My role was to create a visual system that made the whole experience feel playful, thoughtful, and a little unexpected.
For me, the project sits at the intersection of drawing, installation, and social ritual—where illustration leaves the page and enters the room, shaping the atmosphere of a gathering and becoming part of how people experience a moment together.
